I Duiker

We stayed at the incredible Londolozi game reserve in Kruger National Park, South Africa. This tiny creature was very shy and elusive, but we managed to get a shot from which this artwork was drawn.

vi Painting horses

This series started initially to help Kapiti Vaulting Club fundraising to send a team to the World Equestrian games in Ermelo Holland, 2019. I created a base, and the vaulting team and their New Zealand mounts helped complete each work.

Studio

I work and live in an old Villa which is filled with painting, sculpture and collectibles. My works from childhood to recent times, share the walls with works by Peter McIntyre, Richard Killeen, R B Watson, Roberto Paulet, Gordon Coutts, my cousin Bridget Bidwill and others. A recent purchase was a work by a pig in Franschoek, South Africa, going by the name Pigcasso!

xvi ‘Middy' _ Commission

A commission for a portrait of a much loved horse (Australia). I work from photographic reference to paint pets, places or people. I have been commissioned for horses, houses, rural landscapes and portraits.

xviii Rajasthan Series

Works are available from a series of portraits done in 2018 and 2019 following a number of trips to India, where we have returned and spent a lot of time in Rajasthan. Villagers in jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Devigarh, Udaipur and Delhi make up this series.

Gestural abstracts and quick studies drawing on old masters works, depicting military subjects including Napoleon, Gustav of Sweden, Count-Duke Olivares and Field Marshal Lord Roberts.

Following a visit to the Isle of Skye, I have created a series of landscapes from photos I took on the trip of – The Old man of Storr, Skye; The Old man of Storr, Skye; The Cuillin's, Skye; View from Sligahan, Skye; From Storr south, Skye.

xxvi Hearts

A series of mid size and large scale hearts – in mixed media with spray-paint, acrylic on paper – created to fundraise for an animal shelter in Jodhpur, India that I am involved with. It is a long story, but we met Dr Ratna from the shelter on our first trip to India and saved a young dog. We have returned three times to visit and we have supported their work since.

All proceeds from the sale of these works go to the Shelter to Suffering, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India.

Sizes range from 500 – 700 mm to 600 – 800 mm.
